24 марта 2015 года в Приэльбрусье прошла эстафета Победы, организованная пограничниками РФ.
Главный символ «Эстафеты Победы» — штандарт Совета командующих погранвойсками стран-участников СНГ.
Это значимое событие было нацелено увековечиванию памяти погибших в Великой Отечественной войне. Данная акция направлена, в первую очередь, на единение народов России и всех стран бывшего Советского Союза, одержавших победу над фашизмом. Руководитель эстафетной группы ПУ ФСБ РФ по РИ полковник Григорий Кальной.
Члены эстафетной группы совместно с учащимися школ Эльбрусского района, поисковым отрядом «Мемориал-Эльбрус» приняли участие в митингах и возложениях венков к мемориалам воинской славы, встретились с ветеранами Великой Отечественной войны и погранвойск, побывали на именных заставах регионального погрануправления.
Традиция проводить «Эстафету Победы» военнослужащими погранвойск зародилась в 1995 году на 50-летие Великой Победы. Решение об этом принял Совет командующих погранвойсками стран СНГ.
Эстафета закончится в городе Москве 28 мая в День Пограничника.
